Former Valdosta Wildcat Buck Coats (VHS class of 2000) got the call from the Chicago Cubs in late August 2006. He is pictured below at the famous Wrigley Field in Chicago against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Buck was on hand at the Spring '06 Diamond Day to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

That is Charles Tarpley on the left and Butch Brooks on the right. The photo is believed to have been taken around 1976. Coach Tarpley continued a long tenure with the baseball program and retired from teaching in the Valdosta City School system in the last several years. Coach Brooks is now the Director of Football Operations at Georgia Tech.
During July 2006 while attending the Georgia Tech Baseball Pitchers and Catchers Camp, Kyle Rowe ('09), Galen Smith ('08), and Jamie Turner ('09) were invited guests of Coach Brooks for a tour of the Georgia Tech football facilities. That's Coach Brooks on the right.
